Emergency Maneuvers Training

ZlinEmergency Maneuvers Training is a program that is designed to help prepare you in the unlikely event of an emergency.  Topics covered will include the following:

-Review of stalls and spins
-Recovery from unusual attitudes
-Recover from a malfunction of a control system
-Expand you flight envelope with an introduction to aerobatics There are many accidents which may have been recoverable if the pilot had training in recovery from unusual events.  On October 16, 1996 the NTSB recommended to the FAA that Part 121 and 135 operators provide training to flight crews in the recognition of and recovery from unusual attitudes and upset maneuvers.

The EMT Program consists of 3 Lesson Plans:

Having qualified aerobatic instructors and unique aerobatic aircraft , Sault College is proud to offer one of the finest EMT Programs available anywhere.

Lesson Plan 1
Stall/Spin Awareness

  • A rudder coordination exercise - Dutch Rolls
  • Motion Sickness - Some causes and methods of prevention
  • Review Stalls - Including a rudder stall exercise
  • Spins - Aerobatic exercise and an unplanned maneuver
  • Spin Orientation - Visual Cues
  • Review the Mechanical Actions Needed to Perform 1 & 2 Turn Spins

Lesson Plan 2
Unusual Attitudes and Control Failures

  • Recovery From Unplanned Spins
  • Recovery From Unplanned Spiral Dives
  • Coping with Various Control Failures
Lesson Plan 3
Introduction To Aerobatics

    - Chandelles
    - Lazy Eights
    - Aileron Rolls
