Grads at Work
Graduation from the Sault College ECE Program provides you with a number of options:
-
Entry to Practice : Our program enjoys an excellent placement rate for our graduates wishing to enter directly into the job world. Aside from employment in licensed centres in the child care field, recent graduates have been employed locally with the Children's Aid Society as family preservation/support workers; with the school boards as educational assistants; and with the local Montessori School. Graduates are eligible to apply for certification by the Association of Early Childhood Educators, Ontario (AECE,O).
- Continued Post-Secondary education
An ECE diploma provides a well rounded educational experience that prepares students for ongoing study through post-diplomas, university degrees and faculty of education programs
- Many opportunities exist with our articulation agreements to apply your two year diploma towards a university degree
- A number of our ECE graduates have gone on to complete a B.A. and then a B.Ed. and are now teaching in the elementary school system. They report that this typically took them three years after receiving their ECE 2-year diploma.
