Child Care
Child care services on-campus at Sault College accommodate children from 18 months to 5 years. Our licensed Child Development Centre is staffed by qualified Early Childhood Educators who are assisted by students. Student parents requiring day care assistance should contact the Centre as early as possible. Spaces are limited. Visit us in the F-wing.
Child Development Centre (On-Campus Child Care)

We offer care for:
- TODDLERS: 18 - 30 months of age, 5 days per week (maximum of 10 spaces)
- PRESCHOOLERS: 31 months - 5 years, 5 days per week (maximum of 24 spaces)
- JK: Mornings with lunch and return after school. If you plan to enroll your child in either of these programs, please call and discuss arrangements with the supervisor.
Mission Statement
The Child Development Centre provides care and education for young children through a program designed to nurture their potential, curiosity and interest.
Hours & Holidays
We are open 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., September to April. We are closed for all statutory and College holidays.
Priorities for Enrolment
Applicants for admission will be considered as follows:
- Full-time Sault College students.
- Sault College employees - currently 10 percent of spaces are set aside for staff.
- Community members/referrals.

Anyone wishing to enrol their child must first contact the centre and place their name on our waiting list. Please call 705-759-2554, ext. 2701 or ext. 2619 or email nancy.leindecker@saultcollege.ca.
Note: Spaces are limited; enrol early!
Since the waiting list is our only means of contact, parents are asked to inform the Centre of any changes to their telephone number. We can accept only eight toddlers (18 to 30 months). Therefore, the wait for these spaces will be much longer than for a preschool space (2.5 to 5 years).
Fees and Subsidized Child Care
Detailed information about fees can be obtained from the supervisor. Subsidy or financial assistance is available to families who qualify.
